For Immediate Release:
TELECONFERENCING SERVICE PROVIDES SUNDAY SCHOOL AND MINISTRY FOR CHURCH HOMEBOUND
Elderly and Disabled Enjoy the Same Classes and Sermons as the Rest of the Congregation, But in the Comfort of Their Homes
For thousands of disabled and elderly people, church is the most important thing in their lives. Yet many of them are prevented from attending Sunday sermons and classes because of their age and ailments. It is simply too difficult to make the trek from home to church, then back again. This inability to attend services can be devastating to these dedicated church members.
But just because attending services is not possible, doesn't mean the disabled and elderly have to miss the lessons and sermons they treasure. Teleconferencing services are now available for church homebound, so any church can provide ministry to homebound members through a simple conference call.
This Sunday School Teleclass, designed and initiated by Tom Parker, provides features designed specifically to fill the needs of homebound church members. For instance, the Sunday School Teleclass will call each designated class member at the assigned time with an automated phone dial system, enabling everyone to enter the conference in seconds.
Also, with a two-way conference, participants are able to interact just as they would if they were actually in a class, asking and answering questions and fellowshipping with one another. This feature helps to dispel the feeling of loneliness that can pervade the life of someone who is homebound.
The Sunday School Teleclass can be held for an individual or a group. The audio is crystal clear, whether there are 5 or 500 in on the conference. Plus, a live operator is available for assistance during the entire conference.
Teleclasses not only provide a way for homebound church members to enjoy lessons and sermons, but can also help Sunday School teachers fulfill their lesson requirements even when they're out of town. "My church has two teachers who have a Sunday School Teleclass every week," says Tom Parker. "One Sunday, one of the teachers had to go out town for work, but the Sunday School lesson still took place with both teachers present in the conference."
Sunday School is often the high point of a church member's week. Now everyone can enjoy lessons and sermons, even when they can't leave their home.
